Presenting the Colors at Sportsman's Festival
Hometown Warrenton requested that Post 96 Warrenton present the colors and give a short history of the United States' military services to open the 2024 Sportsman's Festival in Warrenton. Commander Alan Boyce contacted the Naval Junior ROTC in Thomson to have the cadets participate by providing the flag detail.
National Commander's Visit
On April 23, 2024, American Legion National Commander Dan Seehafer visited Post 96 Warrenton, an honor that the post greatly appreciated. During his visit, Commander Seehafer took the time to engage with as many people as possible. He addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of being proactive in supporting veterans in need. His message centered around the theme of 'Be The One', encouraging everyone to play a role in assisting veterans. Additionally, Commander Seehafer highlighted the commendable efforts of individuals and American Legion Posts in reaching out to community members and veterans, underscoring the organization's vital responsibilities.
USMVMC Bike Night
Some members of Post 96 Warrenton are also members of the Warrenton Chapter of the US Military Veterans Motorcycle Club. The club held a Bike Night at Post 96 Warrenton of The American Legion on February 22, 2024. A great time for friends to share their bond, service, and passion for riding.
Post 96 Warrenton Centennial Birthday
Post 96 Warrenton celebrated its 100th birthday on July 8, 2024. A large number of people from Georgia attended the celebration. There were many more people than appear in the pictures, and if you have any from the celebration, please let us know.
