Post 96 Supports Warren County High School Leadership Training Retreat
Post 96 member/Warren County High School instructor and coach Quamid Green invited Post 96 to provide lunch for one day of a new Leadership Training class in July 2025. This activity fits nicely into the community support for schools and education that The American Legion pursues.
Coach Green explains, "Last week the Warren County High School’s 'Leaders Among Us' program had its first leadership training retreat. Fourteen middle and high school students, already serving in some leadership capacity, increased their understanding of their own personalities, positive leadership traits, and some of the skills and attitudes that have been observed in great leaders the world over. The three day event was planned by Amanda Wilkerson, Sherika Beall, and Quamid Green. The school system provided ample space, and 4-H provided most of the curriculum. Lunch for the 3 days was sponsored by the American Legion, Warren County Student Council, and Amanda Wilkerson. Presenters included Coaches Wilkerson and Green, Mrs. Beall, Dr. Gregory Rhodes, Mrs. Anita Cummings, Mary Jo Kemp, Alecia Tucker, and Army Sgt Kalyb Bussey."
